Flipping our NEW Cargo Trailer Camper in the Desert..

After buying our new cargo trailer conversion camper we had one MAJOR problem.. Ground clearance, we are currently staying off-grid in a remote location that requires quite a bit of off-roading to get to. With this car trailer being so low to the ground we could not get it back to our original spot where the other trailer sits with all of our stuff.
Good news for us I have done this process a couple times in the past and literally just flipped the axles a couple months ago in our salvaged camper. So I ordered the saddles and got to work thanks to the help of social media I was able to source blocks to chink the trailer up little by little until we could drop the axles and then prepped them for their new saddles.
With another post in a local community FB group we found Charlie who was willing to weld our new saddles up for FREE. We of course offered money and even lunch but he really just wanted to help us out and enjoyed the company. Afterwards we head up into the mountains of Arizona where it had recently SNOWED, it was a beautiful drive and we stopped at one of our favorite towns to enjoy the beautiful white blanket and mountain air.
We then get back to work and finish flipping the axle, I should make this clear the axle itself does not get flipped as it has a bend in it to account for weight, you actually just flip the leaf springs and on this drop axle we then mounted it in the overslung position underneath the leaf pack. That explains why new saddles are required, in theory you could grind / cut the original saddles off and flip them but that is a lot of work and you can buy them for very cheap I believe we only spent $20 on our new set.
This conversion gains around 6" oof additional ground clearance which might be a lot for some but if that is too much you could swap axles completely for a straight axle and while that would be very expensive it is still an option. For the campsites that we like to stay at the height we gained is perfect and it is a huge sigh of relief not having to worry about ripping off the leveling jacks or water drainage ports, etc.
This is not a tutorial just a fun video of a young couple having some fun and making the best out of a tricky situation. Stay tuned for Brazil!🇧🇷
