For decades having grown up in New England, I've had a tune stuck in my head. I heard it constantly everywhere - at home on TV, in the car on the radio, on streaming, social media, and here on YouTube: this jingle (actually, two versions of the same jingle) for a local chain of tire stores. I wanted to know why it exists, how long it's been around (since at least the 1990s, by my estimate), and just who on Earth made these bangers?
I have no answers to these questions. There isn't a trace of info about the origins of this music at all on the Internet. Someone ought to make a 3-hour-long video essay about this. I'll update this space if new details emerge about its origins.
These audio clips have been sourced from different Town Fair Tire ads found on YouTube at the time of this writing. They've been run through various MVSEP models to isolate the stems, and enhanced slightly using various Audacity effects. MVSEP wasn't entirely successful in seperating the racecar effects in the alt. radio jingle, but it's certainly listenable. I'm satisfied with how they came out.
Nobody beats Town Fair Tire's jingles, and I mean noooooobody. Enjoy!
