Ever seen a fishing lure made from rubber bands?
In this video, I’m building one of the strangest and least-known salmon lures from Central Europe — the legendary Zopf from Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
And honestly… I still don’t know how to pronounce it 😅
My version is made as a line-through lure, inspired by the look of a viviparous blenny (eelpout).
Traditionally, the Zopf has a metal head and a body made from feathers or rubber strips — but this time, I’m going full DIY with ordinary rubber bands.
This is a brand-new design made specifically for sea trout, and I have absolutely no idea if it works.
One thing’s for sure though… it’s definitely not pretty! 🐟💀
🎥 In this video, you’ll see:
– Step-by-step lure build process
– First underwater test
– My honest reaction to how it swims
It’s not your typical coastal lure, but who knows — maybe this weird rubber band creation will trigger a curious sea trout (or two).
Would you fish with something this ugly?
