We visited Shantiniketan which is a neighborhood of Bolpur town in Bolpur subdivision of Birbhum district in West Bengal, India, approximately 152 km north of Kolkata. This area is surrounded on two sides by the rivers, the Ajay and the Kopai. It was established by Maharshi Devendranath Tagore, and later expanded by his son Rabindranath Tagore. Rabindranath Tagore founded Visva-Bharati. Many people visit this place in the time of Vasant Utsab and Poush Mela.
