We built a gear cutting attachment for the shaper as our entry into Emma's Spareroom Machineshop toolmaking competition. the entry video included some elements that were targetted at winning the competition, and much of the actual machining was sped-up. Here is more complete footage of the actual machining process for Gear Cutting on the Shaper.
Here we are building an attachment to cut an involute gear on the douglas metal shaper, using a rack form (20 degree V) straight sided tool from first principles
