Rocky Mountain Summit on Safeguarding Children from Gender Harms

Most Americans disagree with attempts to transform children’s bodies using puberty blockers, sex hormones, and surgeries. Recent Trump administration executive orders have attempted to change national policy with new federal guidance on the treatment of children with gender distress. Still, states shielding gender care are doubling down on their existing policies.

FAIR In Medicine welcomes Dr. Travis Morrell and Lori Gimelshteyn to discuss their work in Colorado and their upcoming summit to protect children from continued harm.

Lori Gimelshteyn is Executive Director of the Colorado Parent Advocacy Network (CPAN), leading efforts to protect parental rights, educational freedom, and academic excellence. With a background in speech-language pathology and two decades in private practice, Lori brings a strong foundation in advocacy and policy engagement. She collaborates with leaders at all levels to foster informed dialogue and drive meaningful change.

Beyond her work with CPAN, Lori directs the Let’s Talk Communication Access Initiative, ensuring individuals with complex communication needs can fully participate in society. A dedicated wife and mother, she enjoys cooking, hiking, skiing, and camping with her family. Committed to safeguarding children and preserving America’s foundational values, Lori’s leadership is shaping a future of greater opportunity and accountability for all.

Travis Morrell, MD, MPH, is a dad, husband, and physician. He is published in the top journals of multiple fields and in popular media. Dr. Morrell is a Senior Fellow at Do No Harm Medicine. He is Chair of Colorado Principled Physicians (ColoradoDoctors.org), a grassroots organization of physicians promoting evidence-based medicine and classical liberal values.
