I made this hoody jacket for my 9 years old son and it fit him perfectly. I love the design of the hood and love this mustard color. You can always modify this pattern as you like such as changing one color to multiple stripes color.

Crochet Hoodie Jacket (9-10 years old)

Materials:

Yarn : Loops and Threads Impecable (4 skeins)/ medium weight #4
Hook : 4.50mm / US7
Buttons : 5 pieces , 1 inch / 2.50cm
4 stitch marker
Yarn needle


Measurement : 31 inches / 78.74 cm around circumference (after button up)
21 inches / 53.34 cm from shoulder down

Sleeve

Round 1 : chain 1, 34 hdc, slip sts

Round 2-10 : chain 1, turn work, 34 hdc, slip sts

Round 11 : chain 1, 1 hdc, 1 hdc decrease, 31 hdc. Slip sts (33 sts)

Round 12-16 : chain 1, turn work, 33 hdc. Slip sts (32 sts)

Round 17 : chain 1, turn work, 31 hdc, 1 hdc decrease. slip sts

Round 18-22 : chain 1, turn work, 32 hdc. Slip sts (32 sts)

Round 23 : chain 1, 1 hdc, 1 hdc decrease, 29 hdc. Slip sts (31 sts)

Round 24-28 : chain 1, turn work, 31 hdc. Slip sts

Round 29 : chain 1, turn work, 29 hdc, 1 hdc decrease. slip sts (30 sts)

Round 30-31 : chain 1, turn work, 30 hdc, slip sts

Round 32 : chain 1, 30 sc. slip sts

Chain 1 to secure stitches and cut yarn.


Hood

Row 1 : chain 1 (count as stitch count), 67 hdc. (68 sts)

Row 2-25 : repeat row 1 . chain 1 (count as stitch count), turn work, 67 hdc. (68 sts)

Once you done crochet until row 25, chain 1 to secure stitches and cut yarn

Get 2 small scrap yarns or stitch marker. Count 25 sts from both side of the hood and place stitch marker, you should have 18 stitch count from 1 stitch marker to the other.

Centre Hood (from 1 marker to the other)

Row 1: chain 1 (count as stitch count), 17 hdc. (18 sts)

Row 2-20 : chain 1 (count as stitch count), turn work, 17 hdc (18 hdc)


Crochet both sides together to complete/finish hood (please refer video)

Once done with hood, make half double crochet stitches around the border of the jacket. Make sure to make 3 hdc at corner point (row 50).
