Hennenman is a small agricultural town situated between Welkom and Kroonstad in the Lejweleputswa District Municipality of South Africa’s Free State Province. Although located within the broader Free State Goldfields, Hennenman is unusual in that its economy is driven primarily by agriculture rather than mining. The town also serves as an important railway junction and hosts major cement factories, contributing to its regional significance.
Originally established as a railway station known as Ventersburg Road, the settlement was renamed Hennenman in 1927 after local Afrikaner P.F. Hennenman of Swartpan Farm.
