Motorola 6809 trunking controller progress

Just a quick progress update on the Motorola 6809 type II trunking controller, as it's been several years now. This is a bit rushed as I need to manually ID on all four frequencies every 10 minutes, and my voice is still messed up from being sick, so I'm not covering as much as I'd like to. Whenever I get it fully functional I'll definitely be making a complete overview of the system's architecture, programming, and using various type II radios with it.

Radios are currently able to successfully affiliate, encode and decode control channel messages, call alert/selective call, and emergency transmissions. When making a transmission, radios will successfully send the ISW to the reverse control channel, decode the OSW/channel grant from the forward control channel, tune to the forward voice channel, decode the LSHS signal from it, and start transmitting voice towards the reverse voice channel. The controller however is not detecting the connect tone that the radios are transmitting towards the reverse voice channel. I've tried sending the programmed connect tone frequency directly into the controller using a function generator but it still does not hear it, regardless of the amplitude. I'm going to need to do some further hardware debugging in regards to this, I have not yet verified whether it's an issue with channel 3 specifically but I'd like to get it to a fully functional state anyways.

If anyone has any pointers on where I can obtain some older VHF (136-174) type II or especially type I radios to use with this, a comment would definitely be appreciated. I'm looking for MTSX series or older, I've got several new radios to use with it but it would be fun to try out some older ones too! I've reverse engineered most of the command line interface using the very limited help messages and some arbitrary guessing. But if anyone knows the syntax for the SAC commands or especially has documentation on the hexadecimal DIAG messages that would be very helpful as well.
