Breaking: 12 Pakistani soldiers killed in “intense exchange of fire” with Islamist militant attack

On Sept 13, at least 12 Pakistani soldiers were killed in an ambush by Islamist militants, officials informed. Pakistan army soldiers’ convoy came under fire in mountainous Badar area of South Waziristan near Afghanistan Border. Pakistan army in a statement said that, 12 soldiers & 13 militants were killed in “intense exchange of fire.” At least four soldiers were injured, Reuters reported citing officials. The Pakistani Taliban, a jihadist group that Islamabad says is based in Afghanistan, claimed responsibility. They also said, it had also captured weapons and drones from the soldiers.
