At Pleasance, we believe the best theatre is built together. That’s why we launched MAKE SPACE – a new event for theatre-makers of all disciplines and experience levels, designed to spark connections and support creative collaborations in a non-hierarchical space.

Jasmyn Fisher-Ryner
Jasmyn is an independent Theatre, Events and Digital Producer, and Outreach Consultant from East London. She is Founder and CEO of JFR Productions Ltd.She worked as a producer for the Royal Court Theatre and was nominated for the Best Producer Award at the Black British Theatre Awards in 2022 for producing the double Olivier nominated production For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When The Hue Gets Too Heavy
Imy Wyatt Corner
Imy has just finished working as the Mackintosh Resident Assistant Director at Kiln Theatre, where she assisted on four shows and observed rehearsals for Phantom of the Opera and Hamilton. She was an Artistic Associate at Arcola Theatre 2023/4 and a Creative Associate at Jermyn Street Theatre 2022/3. Currently she is directing 'This Little Earth' at Arcola Theatre.
AJ Turner
AJ Turner is a composer, sound designer and multi-instrumentalist working across contemporary theatre, live art and experimental music based in London. Their work in critically acclaimed theatre productions has toured internationally and across the UK, seen at venues including The Almeida, Schaubühne, Battersea Arts Centre, Carriageworks (Sydney), Frascati (Amsterdam), Arken (Copenhagen), and Soho Playhouse (New York).
Sam Rees
Sam is a critically acclaimed theatre-maker whose work has been staged at leading UK venues including Soho Theatre, Jermyn Street, and Summerhall. He was recently selected for Camden People’s Theatre’s prestigious Starting Blocks programme, and in October 2025 he begins a PhD at Queen Mary University of London, supervised by Dr Michael McKinnie.
Emmanuel Akwafo
Emmanuel Akwafo is an actor, playwright, and Olivier Award-nominated performer known for his bold and dynamic work across theatre and screen. Including include A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Bridge Theatre, As You Like It at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When The Hue Gets Too Heavy at the Apollo Theatre, Royal Court, Sex Education (Netflix) EastEnders (BBC) , The Crown
