This song addresses how we refer to one another, in Christ, as family members. The children, fathers, and young men (brothers) are based upon I John's 2:12-14 and their stature in the Lord's family. Also referenced here are the verses in I Timothy 5:1-2, and the considering of all as family members, brothers, mothers and sisters, and even features the necessity to respect the older members of the community. While some aspects of such chapters are relevant to time and place, most of these teachings of the apostle Paul are still quite relevant today, especially those that teach us familial love for one another.
