MGM Studios Backlot Orlando -the Way It Was

Disney's MGM Studios in Orlando opened May 1, 1989. Here is a rare look highlighted from the backlot tour from November 11, 1990. Little did I know there was going to be such changes that even the iconic ride of that time "Catastrophe Caynon" a ride that made you feel as though you were on a movie set watching a film being made, would be removed in 2014. It would be replaced with "Toy Story Land" in 2016. There were many historic props from movies such as "Dick Tracy" and "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" not to mention facades where movies like "Ernest Saves Christmas" and a TV Show "Golden Girls" were filmed.
