For thirty years legendary trans activist Kate Bornstein '69 has explored gender and challenged gender binaries. In April 2018, Bornstein contributed archival papers that became part of the Pembroke Center's Christine Dunlap Farnham Archive; the first trans alum collection to be curated at Brown. Sharing the possibilities of what trans means today, the author, performance artist and gender theorist boldly goes beyond the gender divide, reconsidering gender identity with contemporary theories and personal experiences.
Sponsored by the Pembroke Center Associates, the Sarah Doyle Center and the Women's Leadership Council.
