We use a combination of Graston Technique, Myofascial Release, and Active Release Technique to address tight musculature that can cause tension type headaches. This particular patient has over developed upper trapezius muscles that cause headaches up the side of the neck, head and into the temple/eyeball area. We minimize the symptoms with the previously mentioned techniques (Graston Technique, Active Release Technique) and then teach exercises to work on the muscle imbalances that have led to over developed upper trapezius muscles.
