Sonic Mania R3shaded ✪ First Look Gameplay (1080p/60fps)

Sonic Mania R3shaded is a Character Skin Mod created by RubberNugget.

= Description =
This mod replaces nearly all of Sonic and Super Sonic's sprites with new ones based on an edited version of Sonic 3's sprites.

The sprites in this mod are not just prettied-up Sonic 3 sprites, but have numerous changes made in order to rectify that Sonic's notoriously off-model appearance, namely enlarging his undersized pot belly, removing his Hulk Hands™, and fixing that weird protrusion on Super Sonic's muzzle. Additionally, the lower head spine is more consistently connected to the head and the back spines have been moved from the neck to the back.

In addition to sprite changes, both Sonic and Super Sonic sport different color palettes; Sonic's deeper blue is closer to his appearance in the Genesis games, especially Sonic 3, and Super Sonic is now slightly orange-er to better convey yellow-gold coloring vs the almost greenish-yellow of Sonic 3.

The changes in the sprites mainly came from Mania and were down-dressed to fit into Sonic 3's style, addressing the proportion issues while staying true to Sonic 3's overall appearance. Those edited sprites were then up-dressed to take advantage of Mania's expanded color palette, bringing the whole thing full circle.

One thing to note here, I think adding Doomsday Zone into the mix may have affected the character mods palette and reverted back to it's original Mania color, same thing with the Mecha Sonic battle, but other than that I think this is a pretty cool redesign!
