A beautiful little filly foal: Shady Acres Khaleesi
For everyone worried about the mare, there is really no need.
This is a completely normal birthing process, and Katie is doing brilliantly.
I am a veterinarian, and I know when and how to interveen, should there be need to.
I try to always be there, to be able to help, but if the birth is progressing normally, I try to disturb the mare as little as possible. You can risk doing more harm than good, if you try to pull the foal out, instead of letting the normal birthing process progess.
The mare is not suffering, this is a normal delivery, and she is doing everything right.
