The day was sunny so I thought I'd try out voice comments using my new camera's internal microphone, although the timing is not ideal. Unfortunately, it was also quite windy (Storm Amy's influence persisting?) and wind noise was a problem, as you will tell from the difference between comments made when I was stationary compared to when I was moving.
I didn't know where I was going but decided on a sentimental journey, covering the Cramlington industrial estates where my Uncle Jack took me for driving practice in 1974-5 and also went past the house in Dudley where we lived for 4 happy years. The driving practice took place in a 1965 Triumph Herald 1200 that I inherited when my father died in 1974. I used to get lost then and today was no different. I passed my car driving test in 1975 and I think my bike test was in 1978. You might also notice that I unintentionally made a clutch-less gear change at one point and had a little wobble at a junction. My AJS is very forgiving!
We covered 13 miles, a slightly longer ride than intended for a quick try-out, but I included the whole ride for the sake of the sound trial. I'll probably try it again on a less windy day before trialling the external microphone.
