𝗕𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗛 𝗕𝗟𝗔𝗖𝗞𝗢𝗨𝗧: Copper Wiring Stolen From Santa Monica Beach Light Posts, Crews Restore Power.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Thursday, September 4, 2025 — Santa Monica city electricians responded to reports of four light posts not working along Santa Monica Beach. After investigating, the crew discovered that approximately 220 feet of copper wiring had been stolen. The wiring was replaced, restoring power to the posts.

During testing, the electricians found that one 250-watt high-pressure sodium light head had failed. The team replaced it with a more energy-efficient 100-watt LED fixture, improving reliability and efficiency along the beachside pathway.
