The 49 Bn, CRPF, Balgarden, Karannagar,Srinagar (J&K) celebrated its 57th Raising Day at Unit HQrs. On 15.01.2026 (Thursday).To commemorate the occasion, Sh. Arvind Kumar Solanki, Commandant, paid homage to the fallen heroes by laying a wreath at the Martyrs Memorial. The solemn ceremony was attribute to the supreme sacrifice of soldiers who laid down their lives in service of the nation.
On this occasion, Sh. Arvind Kumar Solanki, Commandant, complimented all ranks of the battalion for their selfless services and excellent performance demonstrated during ShriAmarnathJiYatra 2025. He exhorted all ranks to continue upholding the finest traditions of valour and remain steadfast in service to the nation. In its glorious journey, 49 Bn warriors have displayed unmatched valour, earning 1 Kirti Chakra (Posthumously), 2 President Police Medal for Gallantry and 2 Police Gallantry Medals. Its emphasis remains on ensuring operational readiness to face evolving threats and maintaining peace in the Srinagar city.
The Raising Day also witnessed an impressive and vibrant cultural programme performance by the Unit jawans, showcasing the diversity and unity. Bihu, Bhangra, Rajasthani dances, solo songs were presented along with Yoga performance on Shiva Tandavastrotam and a skit, drawing enthusiastic applause from the audience. In recognition to their performances, Sh. Sudhir Kumar, DIG (Ops.) North Range, CRPF, Chief Guest felicitated all the participants of the cultural programme and complemented all the ranks and their family members on this occasion. The event was attended by the officers and men of JK Police SSP Ganderbal and the
CRPF Officers from 21 Bn, 23 Bn, 44 Bn, 54 Bn, 79 Bn, 161 Bn, DIG North Range.
