Mr Beveridge's Maggot on Viola

This is used for country dancing and is in Playford's Dancing Master. It's also famously in the 1995 BBC TV version of Pride and Prejudice (which is the best one. I haven't seen any of the others, admittedly). My version is a bit more crunchy than the way it's usually played.
Here, "maggot" means "whim" or "fancy"... or possibly "earworm".
Now, this is just hearsay, but late one night in a caravan on the edge of York more than 20 years ago, a really good fiddle player from New England told me that she'd heard that this tune was not originally called "Mr Beveridge's", but "Miss De Beveridge's". (I can't find any further documentation of this fact, so I only provide this anecdote as it stands.)
