South Korea has unveiled a plan to enhance its defence capabilities with a long-range missile interceptor. The system, expected to come into operation in 2028, is intended to protect civilians and military facilities from possible strikes from North Korea. The government plans to spend US$330 million on the project over the next three years. South Korean military intelligence believe North Korea could fire up to 10,000 rockets per hour, targeting the Seoul metro area in the event of a military conflict. Rani Samtani explains.
