Nuskmata - Jacinda Mack, from the Secwépemc and Nuxalk Nations, is an Indigenous thought leader, advocate, land defender, community organizer and researcher dedicated to supporting Indigenous lifeways, governance, and sovereignty. Nuskmata's work includes being an advisor to the global mining tailings review committee and has worked with Amnesty International and Mining Watch Canada NGOs and Indigenous communities to advocate for necessary reforms in the mining sector, ensuring indigenous rights and environmental protection are prioritized. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Victoria and a master's degree in communications from York University in Toronto.
