Donald Trump’s response to Russia’s strike on Ukraine’s Sumy has sparked outrage from the international community.

A Russian missile strike hit Sumy as Ukrainians gathered for church on Palm Sunday.

France, Germany and the European Union were among those to publicly condemn the attack, with the EU promising more sanctions for Russia.

But the United States took a different view.

Trump’s response had him accused of repeating Kremlin propaganda and downplaying civilian deaths.

It comes as the US president takes a harder stance on Ukraine, with Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy urging Trump to “come and see” the wreckage for himself.
