Many scripts have a high number of occurrences of signs that have mirror symmetry along a central vertical line. There is also a tendency of increased percentage of mirror-symmetric signs over time, for example from the Minoan Phaistos Disk signs, to Cretan Hieroglyps, and further to Linear A signs. We investigate the reasons for the increased frequency of mirro-symmetric signs.
