A storm was approaching, raging across the earth bleeding and burning by the fires of war. Years upon years of grueling trench warfare, countless lives snuffed out in an endless stalemate that chokes the world. Then, humanity made a breakthrough:

Blood-based Economy. What once gave life to man became the currency used to extinguish it. Seemingly indestructible machines, requiring no rest as long as fresh blood flows inside their cold exterior of steel. An arms race began. Nations that could not create blood-fueled war machines to counter other war machines were crushed by those that could. Machines replaced humanity as the protagonists of war and life existed only to perpetuate a war without end. A war without reason.

Unbeknownst to the despairing and dying mankind, a great and terrible evil watched, laughing as it awaited the storm that would kill not just the world but all of creation. The arms race continued for the sake of a victory that would never come.

Eventually, a machine of mass destruction was made that could destroy entire cities. The "1000-THR Earthmover". This brought victory to no one however, as the earth was rendered too uninhabitable and humanity was finally forced into an era of peace. No machine ever made could harm the magnum opus of war. No machine, except one. In the end, humanity had weathered the storm and entered into the age of prosperity with the "New Peace". Apocalypse had been averted and humanity vowed never to fall into such a catasthropic folly again.

The Great Evil watched gleefully from beyond, biding its time. If only mankind knew the suffering that would befall them next…
