Late that night, still in my gown, still
smiling for people who didn't deserve it,
I slipped away from the ballroom and
followed the sound of laughter down a
quiet hotel hallway. My wedding was in
full swing downstairs. The string quartet
was playing our song, guests were clinking
glasses, cameras were flashing. My parents
were beaming like they'd finally exhaled after years of waiting to see me safe and settled.
And I was walking toward the bridal suite with my veil still pinned to my hair because I needed five minutes to breathe. I didn't get five minutes. The door to the lounge was slightly ajar, just enough to let warm air spill into the hallway and with it, a woman's unsteady voice.
"I wore a wedding dress today too," she whispered, like she was confessing a sin. "Doesn't that mean I married you, even a little?"
I froze. My first thought had to be that it had to be some drunk guest, some joke, some chaotic mistake that would be embarrassing but harmless. Then I heard my husband's voice, low, rough, unmistakable: Daniel Hayes.#revenge #redditstories #redditreadings #revengestory #reddit_tiktok #askredditstories #relationship #revengereturns #reddit #drama
