Can't say that I'm listening much to this band. I mostly listen to this song... and, I kinda know Death - Pierce Me too... I mean the song, not the whole album. I sometimes need some dsbm, and this song it's there, in my mind, when it happens. I guess most of us saw the vid with clips from the movie Begotten, and I always associate the music with those images. I can't really separate them anymore. It was kina disturbing back then that's probably why those images are etched in my brain. And the fact that I read that Nattramn was hurting himself when he was recording this... just added even more to the whole dark aura. Now that being said, I have to say that I know songs that are darker and heavier than this one (some, not even using guitars...). But it happened to discover this one, together with that movie, in a period of time when I was very receptive to this genre. I got to say also that prior to Silencer, with some years, I found Bethlehem with the Dictius Te Necare, so I wasn't that surprised by the vocals, or by that style. This one could have been easily on that album. The song isn't that hard to do with software, from the technical point of view. But, I got to say that to some extend I kinda failed to deliver that vibe... that feeling of despair. Of course, this version is missing the vocals, but still... Maybe the tone for the guitars and the production should've been raw-er. No real instruments were used, only VSTs.
