WARNING - Spindle motors between CLD-95 and CLD-3080 are not the same part number. Sorry for the mixup. Disassembly process should still be the same but they are not like models.
In this video, we go over removing the entire carriage assembly from a CLD-97 and replacing both the spindle motor and laser assembly. This can also be applied to CLD-2080, CLD-3080 and CLD-95 Pioneer Laserdisc Players.
Any time a spindle motor or laser is replaced, there is a strong likelihood that re-calibration for the player will be needed.
If you need a replacement laser for your 97, you can use a working laser from one of the above mentioned models. This laser is unfortunately prone to high rate of failure over time.
