Palm Canyon & Quartzsite - Arizona | Solo RV Travel and Adventure GPS

Continuing my stay in Quartzsite, I visit the adjacent Kofa National Wildlife Refuge and Signal Peak, where Palm Canyon is located. A hidden grove of rare native Arizona Palm Trees grow on the canyon slopes, trees believed to be descendants of ancient glacial period palms. The unique micro climate in the canyon allows the trees to thrive amid the harsh conditions of the Sonoran Desert. A rocky trail leads back into the canyon, with views of thousand foot tall rock faces and cliffs, ever changing in appearance as the sun moves across the sky.
