How to check automatic transmission fluid temperature on a Holden Cruze JH Series 2 Turbo Diesel 2012 using an ELD OBD2 interface.

To accurately check your transmission fluid temperature:
1. Buy yourself an ELM327 OBDII OBD2 WiFi Car Engine Diagnostic Code Reader from ebay.
2. Download the Torque Pro app from the Google Play Store - you will need the paid version - the "Lite" (free) version won't have the functionality you need.
3. Go into settings and choose "manage extra PIDs/Sensors". Then from the three dot menu on the top right of the screen, select "add predefined set". From the list, choose "Pontiac/GM/Opel/Vauxhall". That added 3 custom PIDs named "Transmission Fluid Temp (GM Method 1)" and "Transmission Fluid Temp (GM Method 2)" and "Transmission Fluid Temp (GM Method 3)". GM Method 2 picks up the right value I believe.
4. On the screen to "add sensor" choose "Transmission Fluid Temp (GM Method 2)" and add it to your screen.
