Gasps as Boris Johnson snaps at Covid inquiry lawyer over death toll figures

Boris Johnson seemingly snapped at a lawyer representing bereaved families of Covid victims in a disagreement about the UK's death toll during the pandemic.

The exchange at the UK's Covid inquiry was one of the testiest moments yet between the former prime minister and the lawyers questioning him.

Mr Johnson was fielding questions at the time from Pete Weatherby KC, who represents the group Covid Bereaved Families for Justice.
