The song is about being homesick of our native land. One translation offered is:
"These are not my mountains. These mountains are between me and the mountains of my home country, so far away. But even though they are not my mountains, they are very beautiful. This is not my people. These people are between me and my people, who are so far away. But they are beautiful people."
[Some say this was a song by Tromge Trungpa Rinpoche, one of Chagdud Tulku's teachers.]
