Meet Dylan Cawthorne, a man who's challenging gender norms and defying expectations with the simple act of wearing a skirt. For Dylan, it's not about wearing women's clothing, but about pushing the boundaries of what's considered acceptable for men to wear.
Dylan's mission is to encourage others to break free from societal expectations and to embrace their true selves. He wants to inspire people to think beyond the gender binary and to embrace fashion as a tool. Through his honest, sincere, and often hilarious journey, Dylan is proving that fashion has the power to change perspectives on healthy masculinity, empathy, and fun.
By breaking down barriers and challenging norms, he's making the world a more accepting and inclusive place for everyone. And he looks good too. Activist Engineer and Associate Professor Dylan Cawthorne combines his passions for art, craft, ethics and technology. As the winner of the 2021 Inspiration prize, Dylan’s work is a reaction to the changing world, with humans at the center.
