Annie Machon talks about her latest project Code Red. This collaboration with Simon Davies (the founder of Privacy International) which aims to bring together the worlds of technology, media, legal and policy to create a central hub for activists working in the areas of privacy and security. She also tells her story as a MI5 whistle-blower what she revealed, the affect this had on her life, what she learned, and how to confront the issues head on.
This talk was presented at the 2015 conference Surveillance and Citizenship held at Cardiff University’s School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies.
