Is Grimdark a "Low Skill" Miniature Painting Style for Warhammer?

I've really been taking an interest in the grimdark painting style for Warhammer 40K miniatures - some beautiful results can be achieved. But - can it be achieved with "low skill" and just a few super easy techniques? I decided to try it and find out! (I'm already excited to keep trying to learn it more!).
