There is a Gray Squirrel family in my neighborhood which visits my yard daily. Recently, I was treated to watching two practicing allogrooming.
Squirrels groom each other to remove parasites like fleas, ticks, and mites, a process called allogrooming. This mutually beneficial behavior occurs in safe locations, such as trees, to help maintain hygiene and prevent bugs from infesting nests.
