The so-called "Alice Murder House" refers to Estoril House a location infamous for the brutal 1952 murder of Alice Maud Mary Wiltshaw. This case, often dubbed the "murder of the century" in the region, remains one of Staffordshire’s most chilling crimes.
On July 16, 1952, 62-year-old Alice Wiltshaw, wife of wealthy pottery manufacturer Cuthbert Wiltshaw, was found dead in her home by her husband. She had been stabbed six times and bludgeoned with a poker, leaving a gruesome trail of blood from the kitchen to the hallway. Signs of a violent struggle were evident throughout the house.
