After getting qualified to fly the Diamond DA40, it was time for my first solo navigation flight with this aircraft. Simply the fact that this was my first time alone with the DA40 made this a special flight. I initially wanted to go to Spa, but low clouds above the Ardennes this morning meant that I had to come up with a last minute alternative, so I choose to fly to Kortrijk instead. It is not the cheapest airport to fly to, but I like the airspace, it has a long runway, you don't need a PPR, and thanks to the Easterly wind I could finally land there in the opposite direction too for once.
To keep the video short, I skip the departure this time, and only show the interesting parts, including en-route wake turbulence avoidance, the arrival procedure to Kortrijk from the Northeast, and of course my first solo landing with the DA40.
