After assembly, test the stability by gently shaking the ladder and applying weight. It's essential to ensure it can support a child safely. Also, smooth any rough edges with sandpaper to prevent splinters, especially on the top edges.
Finally, apply a non-toxic finish or paint. Involve your child in this creative phase by letting them pick colors or designs.
