Daniel Roth, Trio pour marimba, cor et orgue (Saint-Sulpice, 2025)

Extrait du concert "Orgue en famille" donné le 13 avril 2025 par des membres de la famille Roth à Saint-Sulpice, Paris (France). Daniel Roth, organiste titulaire émérite, Elsa (marimba), Sibylle (orgue, flûte), Félix (cor) et Vincent Roth (alto, nyckelharpa).

Création du "Trio" composé par Daniel Roth pour l'occasion: « Écrire pour marimba, cor et orgue est vraiment inhabituel. Cela m’a tout de suite enthousiasmé : la première idée, tumultueuse, était née ! Contraste avec la deuxième idée : une chaconne, l’atmosphère est poétique, tour à tour paisible, sereine, allant jusqu’à l’explosion de la joie. Le caractère dramatique fait un bref retour mais le thème de chaconne l’écarte définitivement dans un accompagnement carillonnant et l’œuvre s’achève dans une paisible douceur ».

Extract from the “Orgue en famille” concert given on April 13, 2025 by members of the Roth family at Saint-Sulpice, Paris (France). Daniel Roth, emeritus titular organist, Elsa (marimba), Sibylle (organ, recorder), Félix (horn) and Vincent Roth (viola, nyckelharpa).

Creation of the “Trio” composed by Daniel Roth for the occasion: "Writing for marimba, horn and organ is really unusual. I was immediately enthusiastic: the first, tumultuous idea was born! In contrast to the second idea, a chaconne, the atmosphere is poetic, alternately peaceful, serene, and culminating in an explosion of joy. The dramatic character makes a brief return, but the chaconne theme sets it aside once and for all in a chiming accompaniment, and the work ends in a peaceful gentleness.
