For over a decade, the Female Students Network (FSN) has been at the forefront of promoting gender equality and inclusive leadership in Zimbabwe’s higher education sector. In partnership with the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) and other visionary allies, FSN has empowered young women to rise through the ranks of student governance and civic leadership, often in male-dominated spaces. Through mentorship, campaign support, capacity building, and strategic partnerships, FSN has helped female students attain influential positions such as Student Representative
Council (SRC) Presidents, Vice Presidents, and Secretary General. These leadership breakthroughs are not only personal milestones—they represent a larger shift in the culture of campus democracy and feminist organizing. To honour and document this collective journey, FSN is producing The Pathfinders Documentary—a visual narrative of courage, growth, and transformation, told through the voices of student leaders, mentors, and stakeholders who shaped the path
