The incident has sparked debate about whether dingoes should be culled or tourist access restricted, with Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour advocating for banning young children from camping in unfenced areas rather than culling the native animals. Dingo attacks have increased in severity and frequency over the past four to five years, primarily targeting children aged eight and under.
