The hike from Boca Tomatlan to Quimixto and the waterfalls beyond is my favourite hike in the Puerto Vallarta area. Incredible scenery from fishing villages, rocky and sandy beaches, jungle to beach clubs and bars plus a beautiful waterfalls. You can do the entire hike or stop almost anywhere along the way and grab a water taxi back to Boca Tomatlan. Hike from the Boca bus stop to Las Animas is approximately 4.6 km, easily doable in 2 hrs. From Las Animas to the Quimixto village is 3.3 kms and takes approximately 1 hr. From Quimixto to the falls it is approximately 1.3 kms and takes 30 minutes.
