I did what I probably shouldn't have: I played 240p SNES Super Mario World on a PVM with a composite cable. The ultra-sharp image only amplified the imperfections, leading to prominent color bleeding, rainbow banding, dot crawl, shimmering, and jitter. There was tons of noise, washed-out colors, ghosting, and what-not. I totally dismantled Mario and the entire game by going this route. I’ve sinned, and I repent.
UPDATE: 358 Trap Filter improves it but not solved many of the issues, especially with the false color but it must be on for composite on PVM in my opinion (not shown in the video, learned later).
