A flight round part of the site of the former Ravenscraig Steelworks near Motherwell.
The steelworks were closed in 1992 with demolition of the power station taking place in 1996. Not much remains other than some bridges, a large substation, some roads, building foundations and the foundations for the cooling and gas towers.
The site is approximately 1125 acres and remains largely undeveloped other than a college, sports centre, spine road and new housing. Plans are in place to develop the site into the new town of Ravenscraig.
It looks like a bleak wasteland just now, but nature has claimed back a lot over the years. With spring around the corner, some greenery won't be far behind it.
