Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz, former IGL of OpTic and Evil Geniuses and currently of Wildcard, is the star of the 490th Episode of 'Reflections'. This is part one of three about stanislaw's career.
stanislaw made some early waves playing with ConQuest, a core which would become OpTic. In OpTic he was initially playing under daps as IGL, but would eventually take over that role and the team soon responded with big results. They defeated shox's G2 at Northern Arena Montreal and would cap the year by defeating Astralis to win ELEAGUE S2 and then losing to them to get second at ECS S2.
Even though OpTic came into the ELEAGUE Atlanta Major as a potential favourite or dart horse a brutal swiss draw of Virtus.pro and Astralis, eventual finalists, helped them along to a shocking 0:3 elimination! This caused stanislaw to shockingly leave the team for a Team Liquid super-team roster.
That era of Liquid saw very little meaningful success until stanislaw was relieved of IGL duties. He would remain in the team for some more tournaments, where they would even make two international finals, but was eventually removed for poor production.
After some time in an OpTic rework stanislaw was soon ousted by the imported Danish players and would have to grind his way back to the top in the lowly compLexity. Famously shocking the world by making the play-offs of the FACEIT London 2018 major, stanislaw got to again replace daps, this time in NRG.
After an epic run to the semis of the Starladder Berlin Major, where they beat eventual champions Astralis in swiss, the team was downed by Astralis. Revenge came soon after at ESL New York. The newly renamed Evil Geniuses beat Astralis in the group stage and then in four maps in the Bo5 final! EG continued to be an elite team for months more and were still a solid side before the world went online in 2020.
EG had a short run of dominance in NA online later in 2020, but after that results soon nosedived and in later years stanislaw found himself not even playing for EG's main team. After some time in the wilderness, stanislaw reemerged in CS2 with Wildcard. He would help them surprise by making the second swiss stage of the Perfect World Shanghai Major last year.
Most recently Wildcard bombed out of the BLAST Austin Major and roster moves are rumoured.
In part one, stanislaw explains his origins, the cores and moves which got him to the top, beating Astralis, why he left OpTic, working with some of NA's biggest star names and his troublesome time in Team Liquid.
This interview was recorded on the 13th of June, 2025.
