Matt Eder on the Pearl Vision bop kit. Birch shells, champagne sparkle finish: 14x18 BD, 8x12/14x14 toms with Ludwig Supraphonic snare (5x14). Hardware: Yamaha 700 with Pearl P-930 bass pedal. Cymbals: Zildjian. Recorded with Zoom Q3HD up over my left shoulder in a small room. This is how I play after having a root canal, waiting for the anesthetic to wear off ;) Love this little kit - it's outfitted with Remo emperors on top and ambassadors on the bottoms. Bass drum has a pinstripe for the batter and a coated ambassador for the front reso - no muffling and wide open, it has a great thump now. I should've done two tracks with one overhead mic and a mic in front of the bass drum, but I wanted to hear how the Zoom naturally picked it up from over my shoulder - so the bass drum sounds a bit quieter than everything else, but I'm sure in front of the kit it would sound balanced.
