Sakura （さくら）-

『さくら』は、作者不詳の日本古謡。幕末に江戸で子供用の箏の手ほどきのために作曲されたとされている。もともと「咲いた桜」という歌詞がついていた。その優美なメロディから明治以降、歌として一般に広まり、現在の歌詞が付けられたものである。13小節目以降の違いで3通りのメロディがある。

Wa fusion -

「日本のうたを世界に発信」 をテーマに掲げ、2021年に結成されたユニット。
ジャズカルテットに和太鼓・篠笛・ダンスを加えた編成はエンターテイメント性が高く、時に躍動的で、時に詩的な神秘性がある。
日本人の人生に根付いた、民謡や戦前戦後の歌謡曲に込められたさまざまな想いを、ジャズの特徴である即興性を主体とし、幾重にも展開する音と踊りで表現。
新たな彩りを加えた"日本のうた"を令和の世に放つ。

WA FUSION formed in 2021 with the motive to “bring the regional folk music and classical poetry of Japan to the world.” A jazz unit including a taiko drum, shinobue flute, and dance, WA FUSION is highly entertaining, dynamic, and on occasion spiritual in its mystique. “WA” is the oldest attested name of Japan, commonly written with the character [和] also meaning “harmony” or “peace.”
The thoughts and feelings of Japanese people are deeply rooted in their folk music and poetry. WA FUSION wishes to express them mainly through improvisation-a characteristic of jazz- and the harmony of layers of sound and dance. The group will unleash the music of Japan with a new twist to the modern world.
