Historically, Tibetan Buddhist centers in the West primarily focused on teaching Buddhism to Westerners. However, in recent years, some centers have begun to embrace a new mission, teaching and offering cultural activities for the Tibetan community. The Karma Sonam Dargye Ling Temple in Toronto exemplifies this shift. Currently, they are hosting their 9th Annual Tibetan Heritage & Language Summer Camp, a six-week program for young Tibetans aged 8 to 16, to help them connect with their roots and explore the rich tapestry of their heritage through both traditional and modern fun activities.
